Building Community at the Gloucester Block Party

HeartSounds making connections at the Gloucester Block Party
Peer Nation Fair Trade Jewelry project

In August, Heart Sounds had the wonderful opportunity to be part of the Gloucester Block Party, a community event that brings together local businesses, artists, and non-profits to share their work. We were grateful to host a booth where we could connect with both locals and visitors, sharing more about the projects we’re so passionate about.

One of the highlights of the evening was raising nearly $300 in support of our Peer Nation Fair Trade Jewelry project. This program supports women in recovery from mental illness by providing a platform to share their beautiful, handcrafted jewelry and accessories. Over the past few years, Heart Sounds has proudly supported this work by selling their creations at Fair Trade Markets in New York and Massachusetts, offering a platform for these skilled artisans on their journey to recovery.

Beyond fundraising, the Block Party gave us the chance to engage in meaningful conversations, answer questions, and spread awareness about all our ongoing initiatives. It was inspiring to see how many people were eager to learn more and support our mission.

We’re so thankful to the Gloucester Block Party for providing a space where community and collaboration could shine, and to everyone who stopped by our booth to say hello, donate, or simply listen to our story.

Together, we’re building stronger connections—and we can’t wait for the next opportunity to share Heart Sounds with you.
