Home for Divine Mercy

The Home for Divine Mercy provides a safe haven, vocational training, and sustainable farming to support vulnerable girls and their families.

Home for Divine Mercy has made significant strides in improving the lives of vulnerable girls through vocational training. So far, the program has successfully graduated 26 young women with vocational certificates, and there are 40 new students currently enrolled.

With the support of Heart Sounds, a dormitory, a dream of founder, Father Evarist Ankwasiize, was completed in 2021, providing a safe and secure environment for 50 girls. This achievement was made possible by generous contributions from donors, including the Lions Club, District 33 K in Massachusetts, the Knights of Columbus, Council 81 in Marlborough, Massachusetts, and many private donors.

In 2022, the collaboration continued with the completion of a toilet facility and the provision of emergency food supplies during the holidays. These efforts ensured that the girls had access to essential services and support.

Looking forward to 2024, the focus will be on updating equipment for sewing and knitting classes to empower the girls with vital skills. Additionally, efforts will be made to evaluate new programs aimed at fostering self-sustainability within the community.
